Wicket was a fantastic member of my family, she was a little jack russel and she was brown, white and black in the face, her body was white with little black spots.
I remember when my family lived in Alton and Wicket managed to get out of the house and got ran over, the family rushed outside and found her, she got brought inside and within a couple of days she was back to her normal self, lively, protective and loving.
I used to feel sorry for the postman.... whenever the postperson would deliver letters/parcels whichever, wicket would be running to the door when hearing a presence at the front door and be waiting for a hand to come through the letter box... haha, bless her.
She will always be remembered.
She was there when my family lost many loved ones, Wicket witnessed the births of many of our family... Including myself. She was a big part of my family's lives, Wicket was originally brought to our home to help my sister get through a hard time, My older sister Kerry was attached by a Rottweiler and has scars for life, Wicket helped her get through it all and finally kerry started to feel closer to dogs and became very fond of Wicket.
Wicket is one of the best dogs that I would ever have and will always be loved.
15 years after the accident happened, my mum had gone out with my sister Kerry mentioning that if Wicket didn't look any better they would take her to the vet, my dad was in the living room and Wicket was sat there fine then he went into the study, he peered his head around the door and Wicket's head popped up an was fine, my dad went and made a cup of tea then went back to the study, once my dad had finished in the studdy he went back in the front room and Wicket didn't move, she was allready gone I don't know what happened after that.
I remember being woken up by my older brother Chris with tears in his eyes falling onto my face with him repeating "she's gone, she's gone, Wicket's dead" I was then in tears just woken up and kept saying "what? what?!" I ran down the stairs chris infront of me also running and there she was layed on the table so peacefully as if she was still with us, I went to the table and layed my head on her head and cried and cried, my whole family was called all of them arriving around the same time. My brother Matt at work got called (it was his business), he left to come home to be with everyone else, my other brother Mitche was at work he got called but couldn't leave work... Wicket had her family there and she went peacefully and was ready to go.. Wicket was never fond of children didn't like them playing near her or she'd nip them as in to say leave me alone but the past week before she went she let them hold her, cuddle her, lay with her, play with her and alsorts and she never minded that was her way of saying goodbye to the children, the night before she went she went round all the bedrooms whilst we were asleep to basically have her final goodbye, the reason we knew this is that she was at that time... Wicket was 17 years old and will be greatly missed... She Was The Best!
We love and miss you Wicket xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and they are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are so happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together each day, but then the day comes when one suddenly stops and peers into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
YOU have been spotted, and when you finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved soft head, and you finally get to look once again into the loving eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Precious Love
The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.

Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little dog died today;
he'll be waiting at your door.
Please take him into Heaven, Lord.
And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord,
that’s all he'll ask of Thee.
I know what you're thinking. You think I'm dead. Because you cannot see me with your human eye, cannot feel me with your hands or hold me in your arms, you think I am gone forever.
You recall how I looked when I left this place, and you cannot remotely imagine that I could possibly be alive in another place. You are racked and torn by the pain of our separation and it blinds you to that which is right in front of you... me..............
I'm here to tell you different. You were worthy of my love and undying devotion on earth as I of yours. Do you really believe this love would be snatched from us forever by a loving Creator simply because I wasn't human? Was I not a living, breathing creation with personality? How could I have been so if I didn't possess the energy of soul, spirit and loving light? And if this energy is and always will be, then how can it be that I am dead?
.................
You say that all you have left are memories. Not so. You see, when I took leave of my earthly body I left a little something behind for you. You can't touch it, hold it or examine it for what I left behind is far too uninhibited for confinement. I left behind a piece of my soul. I placed it right next to your own which is quite fitting as we were always side by side in our earthly life together. I love you too much to have left you with nothing but memories, which tend to fade and grow cloudy as the years go by.
I love you too much to have vanished without a trace. How selfish it would be of me to remove love and light from your life.
.............
I understand your tears, each one you shed is testament to your love for me and I am honored and humbled. But don't forget the good things we shared - remember and smile. This is an honor for me as well. And when you need me I will be here. Close your eyes, relax, take slow, deep breaths and picture me in your mind. Shut off the world and your notions of what death is and give me a chance. Look for the subtle signs I send you. Don't stop being proud of me, I am a friend to be proud of, I am still your friend and soul mate.
Don't memorialize the death of my body but instead honor and celebrate my never-ending life for it is eternal and forever as is my love for you.
Until we meet again...
